A solemn ceremony on the occasion of the 19th "Day of the Armed Forces" was held at the Military Barracks of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Raylovac district of Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chief of the General Staff of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lieutenant General Gojko Knezevic, as well as military and political figures.

Speaking at the ceremony, Bosnian member of the Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic noted that the armed forces have successfully fulfilled their duties both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the international arena.

Thanking NATO for helping the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Becirovic said: "This year we have made dozens of decisions that allow the armed forces to help the civilian population and local communities. The Armed Forces have successfully completed all the tasks assigned to them, and I congratulate them on this success."

The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, on the other hand, said that the army, which has a multi-ethnic structure, has done an exemplary job, and said: "Our army is an example of how everyone who lives in Bosnia and Herzegovina can unite and reconcile. Our army is getting stronger every day, helping the civilian population, protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year we have witnessed that the main burden of natural disasters is borne by the army," he said.

Chief of the General Staff Knezhevich noted that conditions had been improved with the support of the countries with which they cooperate, and that they had increased the recognition of the army through their activities.

The participants of the ceremony were also familiarized with military equipment that has recently entered service with the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
