Secretary General of the Turkic Council: The Turkic world will move towards a successful future

The 11th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. Assessing the decisions and key points of the summit, OTG Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev stated: "The Turkic world will move towards a stable and successful future."

Bishkek has become a center of unity and cooperation for OTG, hosting a summit under the theme "Strengthening the Turkic world: economic integration, sustainable development, digital future and security for all." The summit was chaired by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and brought together the leaders of the OTG, members of the Council of Elders and heads of other Turkic organizations who gathered to promote a unified and strengthened Turkic region.

OTG Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev assessed the decisions taken at the 11th summit and stressed the importance of joint efforts for the future of the Turkic world.

Strategic agreements: The Turkic world is strengthening

As Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the OTG, noted, "In accordance with the theme of the summit, our heads of state pledged to strengthen cooperation in such areas as economics, ecology, digitalization and security." He spoke about the key issues discussed at the summit:

The Turkic Green Vision: Union for a Sustainable Future: A strategic document defining the main goals and strategies aimed at promoting an environmentally friendly future and creating a green agenda for the Turkic world.

Announcement of Bishkek as the Digital Capital of the Turkic World in 2025: Bishkek will become a digital center hosting international meetings and events in the field of digitalization, thereby strengthening the determination of the Turkic world in the field of digital transformation.

Adoption of the Charter of the Turkic World: A document that enshrines the common values and aspirations of the Turkic states, including the priority of fraternal ties, the spirit of solidarity, the common territory of the Turkic world and other key principles.

Approval of the OTG flag and the Standing Orders of Permanent Representatives: The adoption of the OTG flag symbolizes a new stage in regional cooperation, and the establishment of permanent missions is designed to strengthen diplomatic support and participation in multilateral initiatives of the organization.

Other important points include the signing of an Agreement on the Digital Economy to ensure digital Trade and electronic Interconnection, an agreement on the creation of a civil protection mechanism for coordinated emergency response, the development of a Great Turkic language model using technology and the signing of memorandums of cooperation in the field of space technologies to stimulate joint initiatives.

Bishkek Declaration

The Secretary General of OTG Kubanychbek Omuraliev stated: "The Bishkek Declaration calls for strengthening digital and physical links to facilitate trade routes and increase regional connectivity, such as the Middle Corridor and Trans-Caspian Border Crossing projects. The Digital Silk Road project, recognized as a key component for strengthening digital sustainability, is expected to enhance economic competitiveness and integration."

Omuraliev also stressed that the declaration aims to increase cooperation between member states in areas such as labor, health, social security, agriculture and the environment, with the aim of developing inclusive employment, digital medical systems, water management and sustainable practices in the field of renewable energy sources.

The common position of the Turkic world on global issues

On the international stage, OTG demonstrates a common position on global issues, including humanitarian assistance in Gaza and Lebanon, and supports the creation of a sovereign State of Palestine. The Declaration promotes closer cooperation with global organizations such as the United Nations and the European Union, and provides for the holding of an informal OTG summit in 2025 in Hungary.

The Bishkek Declaration also welcomes Hungary's recent entry into the Turkish Investment Fund, which is a step towards strengthening financial integration between the Turkic States.

The establishment of the Turkish Red Network, consisting of Red Crescent and Red Cross cooperation in the region, marks an important moment in cross-border humanitarian assistance. The declaration also outlines initiatives to ensure food security, water resources and the development of green energy, the creation of a Turkish agricultural insurance system and joint tourism projects, which underlines the organization's determination to ensure sustainable growth.

Secretary General Omuraliev commented on the celebration of Kazakhstan's presidency and the beginning of Kyrgyzstan's leadership as follows:

"The summit noted the successful chairmanship of Kazakhstan under the slogan "Era of the Turkic World!" and highlighted its contribution to strengthening regional solidarity and expanding the framework of cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OT). During this period, more than 80 prestigious events were organized, such as the World Nomad Games, which helped strengthen cooperation between our countries in areas such as social policy, internal affairs, education, technology, innovation and industry.

With the transition of the presidency to the Kyrgyz Republic, it is expected that the summit under the theme "Strengthening the Turkic World" will open up new horizons for further progress. President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov presented a comprehensive vision that prioritizes economic integration, sustainable development, digital innovation and security. This strategic framework once again confirms our shared commitment to a prosperous, interconnected and secure Turkic world."

The chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan will guide the work of the OTG until the next summit, which is scheduled to be held in 2025 in Azerbaijan, and an informal summit will be held in Hungary in the same year.

At a press conference after the summit, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Jeenbek Kulubayev, the main priorities under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan were summarized, such as the transformation of Bishkek into a digital center, the promotion of cooperation in trade, security and environmental protection, as well as the transformation of Jalalabad into a tourist center of the region. Discussions on recent regional and global events have strengthened the Organization's goal of uniting the Turkic states as a strong actor on the world stage.

In the future, Kyrgyzstan's presidency will be an important step towards deepening partnership in areas such as digital transformation, security, environmental management and sustainable development.

The 11th summit once again confirmed the commitment of the Turkic world to a common future, uniting its diverse forces and common heritage for the benefit of all Member States.
