An amnesty has been announced in Uzbekistan on the occasion of Constitution Day

On the occasion of Constitution Day, which will be celebrated in Uzbekistan, an amnesty has been announced, which 334 prisoners will use.

According to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree pardoning "prisoners who repent of their crimes and are on the road to recovery" on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the country's constitution.

According to the decree, 283 prisoners, 249 of whom will be on probation, will be released as part of an amnesty that will benefit 334 prisoners, and 51 convicts will have their sentences commuted or their sentences shortened.

Among those pardoned are 88 members of illegal organizations, 15 people over the age of 60, 23 women and 18 foreign citizens.

The relevant ministries and government agencies have been instructed to ensure the adaptation of prisoners who will be pardoned and released.

In Uzbekistan, on the occasion of national and religious holidays, the President announces amnesty for prisoners who "repent of their crimes and are on the road to recovery."
