Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik in Ankara today. At the meeting, where regional issues were discussed, as well as bilateral relations, Foreign Minister Fidan said: "The war in Ukraine must end on the basis of international law. If there is a will between the parties, Turkey is ready to host the negotiations."

According to diplomatic sources, the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza was also one of the main topics of the meeting. Stressing that Israel cannot establish security through violence, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said: "We cannot remain silent in the face of oppression and violence against Palestinians."

During the meeting, Foreign Minister Fidan noted that Turkey wants the war in Ukraine to end peacefully on the basis of international law.

Noting that the prolongation of the war has negative consequences both at the regional and global levels, Fidan said that Turkey will continue to do everything possible to establish peace and is ready to host negotiations if there is will between the parties.

Stating that the international community should not remain silent in the face of oppression in Gaza, Foreign Minister Fidan said at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart that Turkey is making great efforts to ensure a complete ceasefire as soon as possible, uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid and taking measures to achieve lasting peace.
