The 16th KazanForum Kicks Off Tomorrow in Tatarstan
“Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum” will open its doors tomorrow in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, a federal subject of the Russian Federation.
The forum will address developments in economic and social relations between Russia and Islamic countries.
This year marks the 16th edition of the forum, which is expected to host delegations from over 100 countries.
Since its inception in 2009, the forum has brought together representatives of international organizations, public and financial institutions, embassy officials, politicians, investors, and businesspeople.
The forum will host a variety of events on topics such as Islamic finance, the halal industry, and international cooperation. It will begin with the opening ceremony of Russia Halal Expo, where leading producers from the Islamic world will showcase halal-certified food, clothing, accessories, and cosmetics to consumers.
Over 150 companies and more than 40,000 visitors from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Iran, India, Senegal, and the Russian Federation are expected to participate in this halal product exhibition.
Other events to be held within the forum include Modest Fashion Day, showcasing the latest trends in Islamic fashion; the Eastern Cup, an international football tournament for children; and a culinary competition featuring young chefs under the age of 25 from over 100 countries, including Turkey.
For the first time this year, the forum will also host the International Conference of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).
Additionally, a friendly football match will be held on May 16, featuring former players of Rubin Kazan football club and diplomats from Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member states.
The forum, which will also include numerous cultural and sports events, will conclude on May 18.
