Turkmenistan is ready to increase the supply of natural gas and electricity to the ECO countries

 

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan is ready to increase the supply of natural gas and electricity to the ECO countries. Berdymukhamedov, ECO Leaders 16. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that they are ready to increase the volumes of natural gas and electricity sent to the countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), with their current and prospective capacities.

 

Berdimuhamedov spoke at the 16th ECO Leaders' Summit held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. He spoke at the summit.

 

Noting that today's high-level meeting took place at a time of serious geopolitical concerns that profoundly affect the course and direction of the development of the world economy, Berdimuhamedov said: "The responsibility of the organization should be constructive and creative use of opportunities in the context of ongoing geo-economic changes and mobilization of all the advantages of the economic cooperation service."

 

On November 28, 2021, Berdimuhamedov took part in the 15th annual summit in Ashgabat. Drawing attention to the importance of the ECO Summit, he said that there were important initiatives at the summit and that he gave a new impetus to joint work.

 

Stressing the importance of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic and investment spheres, Berdimuhamedov said:

 

"During the chairmanship of the ECO in 2021, Turkmenistan proposed to start work on the creation of economic corridors in the ECO region. It is important to actively use the opportunities of cross-border and regional trade to increase trade turnover between the ECO countries. In order to expand cooperation, I propose to consider the creation of information portals with information and proposals, business projects in order to better inform about the opportunities that our countries have."

 

Berdimuhamedov raised the issue of creating joint transport and logistics hubs among the ECO countries and said: "Turkmenistan also attaches special importance to the creation of interregional transport and transit corridors at the junction of the ECO countries. In addition, we believe that the establishment of multimodal cargo transportation from China through Central Asia to the ports of the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea is one of the priorities that should be discussed in the future."

 

Noting that Turkmenistan has implemented many large-scale joint energy projects, Berdimuhamedov said: "We invite our partner countries to expand our cooperation in the field of energy in order to create an energy supply system covering the ECO countries. From my point of view, I can say that Turkmenistan is ready to increase the volumes of natural gas and electricity sent to the ECO countries with its current and future capacities."
