Uzbekistan's textile exports exceeded $2.6 billion in 10 months

The export of textile products from Uzbekistan, one of the most important countries in the global cotton industry, amounted to 2 billion 559 million 300 thousand dollars in January-October.

According to the Association of the Textile Industry of Uzbekistan, the country's textile exports decreased by 3.2 percent in 10 months of this year compared to the same period in 2022.

During the specified period, textile exports from the country were recorded in the amount of 2 billion 559 million 300 thousand dollars.

Uzbekistan, which has taken important steps towards the development of the textile sector in recent years, has sold more than 600 types of textile products to 59 countries in 10 months, while 1 billion 53 million 900 thousand dollars of exports of the sector were ready-made knitwear and clothing, and 1 billion 38 million 800 thousand dollars – cotton yarn. Other most exported goods were knitted fabrics worth 265 million 700 thousand dollars, embroidered fabrics worth 149 million 300 thousand dollars and socks worth 51 million 500 thousand dollars. In January-October, textile exports accounted for 12.5 percent of Uzbekistan's total exports.

In a country where an average of 1 million tons of cotton fiber are produced annually, exports of textile products for 10 months last year amounted to 2 billion 643 million 200 thousand dollars.

Uzbekistan, which has completely stopped exporting cotton since 2020, aims to process all its products in the country's factories and increase exports of textile products to $8 billion in 2025.
